Rafael Dos Anjos submits Kevin Lee in the 4th round!

Ya know, RDA has been working on how to beat this exact type of fighter (big, strong aggressive wrestler) since the Tibau fight and failed repeatedly (Khabib, Covington, Usman). We’ve seen him make strides here and there. More focused on combos and circling to stay off the fence. But here, against Lee, he didn’t really have to demonstrate any of those changes too much cause Lee was content tiring himself out shooting for bad takedowns. Go figure.

Ian Heinisch takes a decision over Antonio Carlos Junior

I’ve said it since he said he was moving down, there’s no reason for Shoeface to be at 185. Dude just doesn’t have the gas tank to go 3 rounds if he isn’t controlling every aspect of the fight. Heinisch fought off all his submission attempts and refused to let ACJ settle on top. Repeatedly fought to his feet and made Shoeface work. It led to him being able to grapple with Shoeface for long stretches in the 2nd and 3rd. Good win for Heinisch.

Felicia Spencer submits Megan Anderson in the 1st round!

Excellent way to make your UFC debut. The former Invicta FC Featherweight Champion makes quick work of Anderson. Fought her way to the clinch along the cage. Dropped back like she was pulling guard but instead went through Anderson’s legs and got to her back. From there she secured the RNC. Anderson really not getting the hang of grappling. Looked lost for what to do once Spencer got her down.

Huge win for Spencer, as she’s now Canada’s best prospect.
